For the special occasions of Panguni Uthiram and Vishu festivals, the corridors of the famous Sabarimala Sri Ayyappan Temple were opened and special pooja are being performed regularly.
Apart from the regular pooja, special pooja such as Padi pooja, Udhayasthamana pooja, Kalayabhishekham, Sahasrakalasabhishekham are also being performed daily.
On the special occasion of Vishu (Friday, 14th April), the Lord Sri Ayyappa temple corridors will be opened at 5.00 AM.
Subsequently, all the other regular pooja will be performed along with special Vishu pooja.
As per the folklore and tradition that the people must live forever in good wealth, Ayyapan temple Thanthri Kandararu Rajeevaru and Melsanthi Unnikrishnan will distribute coins to the devotees. The devotees consider it as a special blessing to receive these coins.
On this auspicious day, a larger gathering of devotees is expected to visit the temple.
The state Kerala Transport Corporation has organised special buses from various places.
The same special pooja and coin distribution on the occasion of Vishu are being organised in many other temples in Kerala.
