Infosys to set up 4 technology hubs in 2 years

As one of its efforts to cope with the visa-related struggles, Infosys, India’s IT major with BSE 0.09 percent is set to hire 10,000 locals in the US within 2 years. 4 technology and innovation hubs are proposed to be set up.
 
Infosys will enhance its presence in newer technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), machine learning, user experience, cloud and big data with the help of these new hires and centres.
 
Hinting about this, CEO of Infosys, Vishal Sikka said the very first out of these 4 hubs will be set up in Indiana by August 2017. This will give rise to 2000 job openings for American workers by 2021. Within a few months, the locations of remaining 3 centres will be decided. Apart from training candidates on technology and innovation front, these will also handle clients from different sectors such as financial services, manufacturing, healthcare, retail, and energy.
 
Out of the total revenue of Infosys in 2016-17 financial year which was USD 10.2 billion, about 60 percent account to be sourced from the North American market.
 
However, these steps are not merely taken to mitigate the impacts caused by stricter norms in the US.
