Meteorological Centre: Prospects of light drizzle in Chennai

There are prospects of rain in the interior districts of Tamil Nadu in a few places in the next 2 days due to the formation of a thermal convection.

The director of the Chennai Meteorological Centre informed that there are prospects of some light drizzle in a few places in Chennai Metro.

Presently, extreme heat intensity is prevailing in Andhra region. Temperatures, 5 degrees to 8 Degrees Celsius, higher than the maximum recorded, have been registered in Andhra.

As hot winds are blowing from this region, there is a higher temperature by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius recorded in Tamil Nadu. Thiruthani recorded 45.5 Degrees Celsius. This trend will prevail for the next 2 days.

Due to the thermal convection phenomenon, there are prospects of rain in a few places in the interior districts of Tamil Nadu. 

There may light drizzles in a few places in Chennai. Southwest monsoon rain season has started in Andaman. The southwest monsoon rain season is expected to start in Tamil Nadu by the end of this month or the start of the next month.
