Tamil Nadu to witness good pre-monsoon showers

Pre-Monsoon rain and thundershowers have finally picked up pace over Southern Peninsular India. All thanks to the development of weather systems over the region.
With this, Tamil Nadu which till now has been recording on and off light rains only, is now gearing up for some good pre-Monsoon showers.
According to Skymet Weather, a trough is extending from Odisha up to South Tamil Nadu. Due to this, we expect light to moderate showers to continue over many parts of Interior Tamil Nadu including Salem, Vellore and Tiruchchirappalli.
In wake of these systems, many parts of Interior Tamil Nadu will record good rains but coastal areas, particularly north coastal parts may receive only short spell of rain and thunderstorm activities.
These good rains are likely to continue till the next 24 hours. The intensity may reduce but temperatures over Tamil Nadu will remain marginally below normal.
Along with Chennai, several parts of Interior Tamil Nadu are likely to record good showers during the next 24 hours.
