Today is the last day for GST registration

Today is the last day for registration for changing over to the GST mode of tax payments.
The central government will be implementing GST from 1st July throughout the country.
Presently, the traders are paying the related taxes online to the state government (VAT) and Central government (Kalal Tax, etc,). Henceforth, the traders need to pay only GST.
The central government has set up a special website to facilitate this GST changeover.
84 Lakhs traders all over the country were given time until 30th April to register for GST. However, only 66 Lakhs traders could complete this before this deadline.
So, for the benefit of the defaulters, the deadline has been extended till today (Thursday, 15th June).
