According to 2 new studies, it is said that consuming more coffee can lead to longer life. This has made us think of the long debated topic of health effects of the beverage.
A study involved surveying over 520,000 people across 10 European nations. This was the largest study made till date on coffee and mortality. Here, it is found that a person’s risk of mortality can be largely reduced with consumption of coffee.
The second was a more novel study. This focused mainly on non-white population. On surveying about 185,000 African-Americans, Hawaiians, Japanese-Americans, Native Americans, Latinos and Whites, the result states that coffee consumption can substantially increase longevity across races.
There was 18 percent lower risk of death for those who had 2 to 4 cups of coffee in a day as compared to those who never had coffee at all, the study states. These studies and the previous ones in the same niche are of the same line. This is consistent with the earlier studies made on the white population, say experts.
With this diverse population, there is different lifestyle with these people. All of them have varied diet habits and different susceptibilities. The patters discovered are however similar, said a researcher involved in the study.
