Today, the telecom minster Manoj Sinha had launched the next generation optical fibre based BSNL technology network. With this, BSNL will provide broadband services with 1,000 mbps download speed.
At present, the broadband facility offered by BSNL is with the utmost download speed of 100 megabit per second with its fibre to home network.
The major project called NT-OTH technology is successfully implemented in 44 cities encompassing the state capitals and important cities. In this project, over 100 cities including that of state capitals shall be encompassed in phases in the ongoing financial year, said Sinha during the inaugural event of the new system.
The implementation of next generation optical transport network will take place in 3 phases with overall outlay of Rs 330 crore.
The present 10G capacity is to be escalated to 100G capacity of optical fibre infrastructure with the launch of this project.
There will be 10 times increase in capacity and new plans shall be launched with increased speed. Speaking about this, the Chairman and Managing Director of BSNL, Anupam Shrivastava said retail customer base of BSNL in FTTH, mobile and landline shall be benefited with the enhanced capacity.
