TTD (Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam Board) has resumed issuing tokens for Divya Darshan during the weekends.

Divya Darshan tokens are exclusively issued for the devotees who undertake the visit by coming on foot – in order to lessen their hardship and not to make them wait further for a long time for Darshan adding to their physical strain and have the Darshan of the Lord in reasonably quick time. This system was started a few years ago.

However, the number of devotees undertaking visit by foot exceeded 50000 in recent times. Because of this, TTD has stopped issuing Divya Darshan tokens since the last 2 weeks. Subsequently, 20000 tokens for Divya Darshan were issued on weekdays from Monday to Thursday  - 16000 takes at Alibiri and 4000 tokens at Srivari mettu.

This procedure enabled the devotees visiting by foot to have Darshan of the Lord within 2.5 hours and leave.

In this situation, a trial was undertaken by issuing 20000 Divya Darshan tokens during the weekends as well on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. It was observed that this system too. This enabled the devotees coming by foot to have quick Darshan without too much waiting. So, a decision was taken to continue issuing Divya Darshan tokens on the weekend also.

With this decision, TTD has now announced that Divya Darshan tokens – exclusive for the devotees who come by foot – would be issued during all the 7 days of the week.
