Google Maps has announced that it will send important messages to the customers especially during the periods of great natural disasters.

Google Map is set to send SOS warnings to the users regarding steps to be taken during times of great natural disasters – where the affected people can reach and stay as refugees, the routes to be avoided while reaching that place, warnings regarding impending earthquakes, news regarding the rescue activities taken, and all the emergency telephone contact numbers.

Google Maps has formed a team jointly with the various related government departments and Red Cross to gather extensive information on this front.

The SOS warning system is devised to provide the facility for the affected public to share information from their end.

In the 1st Phase, Google Maps will offer this new facility in 12 countries including India, America, Japan, Philippines, Australia, and Canada.
