Govt extends deadline to link Aadhaar for free LPG

The central government has announced the extension of the deadline to link Aadhar card details with the free LPG cooking gas connections till 30th September.
The scheme, called (PMUY) Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, was commenced last year to give free LPG cooking gas connection to the sections of the society living BPL – Below Poverty Line.
A target has been set under this scheme to give free LPG cooking gas connection to 5 Crore poor women within the next 3 years.
The central government had announced earlier that it was mandatory to link Aadhar card particulars with this scheme. So, those who apply for free LPG cooking gas connection must attach a copy of their Aadhar card with their applications. If they do not have Aadhar card, they have to apply for the same before 31st May and attach a copy of this application for Aadhar card along with the application for free LPG cooking gas connection.
Now, the central government has announced the extension of this deadline until 30th September. In case, Aadhar card is not available, they can apply for the same immediately (before 30th September) and attach a copy of this application.
