The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Board has announced that the Tirupathi temple corridors will remain closed for lunar eclipse from 4.30 pm August 7, till 2 am August 8.
The lunar eclipse (Chandra Grahanam) will starts from 10.52 pm on August 7, till 12.48 am of August 8. Usually, TTD will close the doors of the temple corridors by 4.30 pm on August 7 and will re-open the doors by 2 am on August 8.
Because of the lunar eclipse, the temple corridors will be cleaned thoroughly 6 hours in advance of the onset of lunar eclipse, by 4.30 pm on August 7. The corridors will be closed after that.
The corridors will be opened again in the early morning 2 am on August 8 and the temple corridors be cleaned again.
After performing punyahavachanam, shuddhi, the early morning Arjitha Sevas will be performed as usual. The Sarva Darshan will commence by 7 am on August 8. Even no food will be served to devotees. TTD appeal to the devotees to plan their trip accordingly, said Tirumala JEO K.S. Sreenivasa Raju.
