In India and across the globe, Reliance Jio has achieved a lot of milestones and set records. It has crossed over 130 million users within just 1 year off beginning business operations. In his letter to the Jio employees, Reliance Industries Chairman and MD Mukesh Ambani said the company has set a number of records in the past 1 year. Of all these, the biggest satisfaction he feels is to have broken the belief that India cannot get adopted to advanced technology.
It was on September 5 that Reliance Jio launched its mobile service. It came up with a 90-day free unlimited 4G data with free unlimited voice calling including roaming without any extra charge.
After Jio’s commencement of operations, the telecom sector in India had seen the peak with subscriber addition on and on in the following months.
In October last year, the telecom subscriber base in India saw 1.1 billion mark, thus achieving 29 million new customers in a month which is the highest customer addition. Of this count, the new entrant had 19.63 million subscribers.
Ambani, in his letter, has appreciated all the efforts taken by the employees to set up the necessary infrastructure and technology and their tireless work to acquire more than 130 million happy customers.
