The favourite South Indian Dish ‘puttu’ with sprouted green gram and red rice

The puttu (another South Indian dish made by the main process of steaming) made with sprouted green grams and red rice is an excellent dish recommended strongly especially for the diabetics.

Here is the recipe:

Ingredients:

Red Rice flour – 1 cup
Sprouted green grams – ¼ cup
Scraped coconut – a little
Salt – as required

The recipe

Fry the ground red rice flour on an empty pan still smell emanates.

Transfer the fried flour to another vessel, add the required salt, sprinkle water and mix loosely.

Take the special puttu vessel, fill a little quantity of the red rice flour as the 1st layer. Fill the next layer with the sprouted green grams. Fill the next layer with the scraped coconut. continue this procedure to fill the puttu vessel.

Keep the puttu vessel after switching the gas stove and steam for 10 to 15 minutes. The puttu is ready to serve.
Serve the children with sugar as the side-dish.
