Airtel has come up with a new offer combating that of Reliance Jio’s Rs 149 offer. Under this, users get 1GB of data along with unlimited voice calling for a total validity period of 28 days. Coming on to Jio offers, it provides 2GB data per month with unlimited voice calling and 300 free messages with 28 days validity.
Meeting the needs of heavy data users, Airtel also has a plan for Rs 999 where users get 4GB data per day along with free STD and local voice calls for 28 days period. This offer, however, will be available only for select Airtel users.
In Mumbai, Airtel VoLTE services were launched in the beginning of October, thus challenging the VoLTE monopoly Reliance Jio. The two yardsticks for Airtel to combat in the disrupted scenario after the entry of Reliance Jio are its Rs 999 4G data pack and VoLTE network.
Airtel VoLTE – is it available on all handsets?
On all handsets enabled for 4G and LTE usage, the Airtel VoLTE service shall be available, provided the user has an Airtel LTE SIM card. There will be no extra charge towards Airtel VoLTE voice calls. The billing shall be done according to the existing plans or pack benefits.
With no extra charge, Airtel users will be able to make calls to any mobile or landline number through VoLTE.
In localities where Airtel 4G service is unavailable, Airtel VoLTE shall switch to 2G or 3G services. While Reliance Jio is vigorously focusing on 4G network, Airtel’s slew in focus will be a boost. Even on VoLTE calls, Airtel users can keep using 4G data service. So, as of now, the only two telecom providers to offer VoLTE service are Reliance Jio and Airtel.
Since the very inception of Reliance Jio services, there have been influx of changes and introductions in the telecom sector including extensive data and voice pack offers!
