Purchase price of eggs touches unprecedented high

Around 3 Crores of eggs are produced daily in the poultry farms in the district of Namakkal. Out of this, 4% is sent to the state of Kerala and 2 Lakh eggs are exported.

Presently, a severe winter season is prevailing in the Northern States of India and in South, the state of Tamil Nadu has been experiencing cold and rainy days alternately. Because of this, the demand for eggs has gone up.

The purchase price of a single egg was Rs. 4.59 since yesterday (Sunday, 12th November),

However, the purchase price of an egg was increased by 15 Paise and fixed at Rs. 4.74 per piece.

This price is an unprecedented high in the history. It is learned that egg may be sold at Rs. 6 per piece in the retails shops.
