Here comes Messenger Kids from Facebook Inc. It is a mobile app from the hands of social media giant with which it is stepping into the untapped market - kids aging below 13. With this, parents can sit back and feel free and provide them thorough freedom of what they can get access to.

The minimum age limit for using Facebook is age 13. With the new app, Facebook will be pioneering in holding the loyalty for the app exclusively for young children when there arises a competition from the other social media platforms like Snapchat.

We already have a number of other mobile apps that children can use without the knowledge or supervision of parents. Kids can communicate between each other and text on mobile phones.

According to Facebook report, researches say that young children who are already exposed to technology regularly most of which are for the teens and adults tend to raise concerns as they are prone to contact with strangers.

On the other hand, parents are by themselves willing to allow their children aging 6 to 12 to access smartphones and mobile apps without their supervision. On the Facebook Messenger Kids app, parents will have to set up an account, and give approval to children’s contacts.

So far, there is not any space for the children to use messenger app, said Facebook spokeswoman Lauran Svensson. Let us note how the kids are set to use it. We shall update on the future when needed.
