Aadhar not mandatory to buy/register properties

The central government has declared that Aadhar has not been made mandatory while registering properties bought.
The Minister of State for central housing development and internal affairs, Hardeep Singh Puri, in a written reply to a query regarding the above issue, has stated that during the registration of a property bought, it has not been made that Aadhar cards are mandatory. However, the ministry has requested that based on the willingness, furnishing of Aadhar details during this task may be considered.
