TTD (Tirumalai Tirupathi Devasthanam Board) Executive Officer Anil Kumar Singhal has informed that the system of issuing Darshan Permission Card will be implemented in March.
The system of issuing ‘time slot tokens’ (Dharma Darshan permission card) carrying the approximate time of having Darshan was adopted at 14 places and 117 counters from 18th to 23rd December for the devotees coming fro a free Darshan to have the Darshan within 2 hours of waiting.
During the 1st 5 days, the time slot tokens were issued to 60000 people. On 23rd December, the time slot tokens were given to 18000 people.
With the help of the Srivari Seva Association volunteers, opinions/suggestions were received from the devotees regarding this new system where date and time indication is given in the time slot token.
The feedback was good - 90% of the devotees responded that the new system is good and must be implemented.
After the time slot tokens are issued to the devotees coming through the 2 routes of Alipiri and Srivarimettu, many of the Divya Darshan devotees who did not get this time slot token had gone to Tirumalai, obtained the time slot token and then managed to have Dharma Darshan in fairly quick time without much waiting.
The devotes who had not brought their Aadhar cards, waited as usual in the Vaikuntam Queue Complex and then had Darshan.
It takes 33 seconds to issue the time slot token to each devotee. The executive officials have been instructed to adopt the latest technology to try and reduce this time of 33 seconds even lower.
The system of issuing time slot token will be permanently implemented in March 2018.
As the setting up of counters has been completed in Tirumalai, the counters will be set up in Tirupathi as well and time slot tokens will be issued. A decision has already been taken regarding the locations of these counters.
The engineers will soon commence the task of setting up time slot token issue counters in Tirupathi.
