Makara Jyothi at Sabarimala temple on 14th January

The temple corridors of Lord Sri Sabarimalai Ayyappa swami temple were opened on 15th November for performing Mandala Pooja. These pooja were conducted as per the schedule. The Mandala Pooja was performed on 26th December in Sabarimala temple. Lakhs of devotees had the Darshan of Lord Sri Ayyappa.

After the Mandala Pooja, the corridors of the temple were closed at 11.00 PM on 26th December.

In this situation, for the occasion of the famous Makara Vilakku Pooja, the temple corridors have been opened again.

Melsanthi Unnikrishnan graced the opening of the temple corridors under the supervision of Tanthri Kandararu.

The famous Makara Vilakku Pooja and Makara Jothi Darshan are scheduled to be performed on 14th January.

Lakhs of devotees are expected to participate on this occasion. The inflow of devotees in large numbers has started already.

So, the police security has been strengthened, especially in the regions of Pampa, Sabarimalai, Erimeli, and Nilakkal. More than 3000 police personnel have been deployed.

After the Makara Pooja, Padi Pooja will be performed from 16th to 19th January and then the temple corridors will be closed.
