State-run telecom firm BSNL had launched online verification of mobile connections that will be done based on Aadhar. This is for non-resident Indians and senior citizens aging above 70, and physically challenged individuals.
In a recent company statement, it is mentioned that BSNL has introduced a very simple reverification process for NRI, physically challenged and senior citizens. One can get the verification done right at the comfort of being at home, reads the BSNL statement.
Starting from 1st January 2018, all the senior citizens aging above 70 can make use of this service. In addition, NRIs and physically challenged can also make use of the facility. Those who do not have Aadhar number or biometric id and have their mobile number unregistered with the Unique Identification Authority of India can avail the facility.
Those eligible for this facility can re-verify the mobile number on
BSNL website where the process link is provided. Upon entering the existing mobile number, an one-time password will be sent to the number.
After completing the online process, the details shall be shared with the local circle administration for verification. Once the circle administrator verifies the provided details, an SMS shall be shared to the customer with details of successful completion of re-verification.
