Survivors Gave petition to the District Collector of Thiruvallur District to reopen their House

Last year Christmas gone as Tragedy where 22 lives were lead to death. and two children who were survived in the incident gave a Petition to Thiruvallur District Collector to open their home in Gummidipoondi. The house has been under seal ever since the incident. We do not even have a photograph of our parents. We need to take our personal belongings from the house in which we were living as a joint family,” said one of the boys, studying in class X in a school in Tiruvottiyur. A total of 21 persons belonging to the family of Soundarapandian Nadar, and the wife of boatman Ansari died when the boat they were in capsized.
Even though their property sealed the District administration looks after the two children and their cousins were look after by their relatives in Chennai. The children were been supervised by the District Probation Officer-cum-District Protection Officer M.S. Syed Rawoof.
The District Collector Mr.Veera Ragava Rao I.A.S said that the fishermen of Pulicat are known to take tourists on boat rides. But after the incident they have stopped the practice. and the extreme precautionary methods are taken to control the accidents whereas the boating may continue in future.
