Depression is one major health issue that is affecting many people these days. The superb piece of news now is consuming DASH or Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension diet would reduce the risk of depression plus it also reduces hypertension.
It is worthy to mention here that this DASH diet involves consuming proper amounts of fruits, vegetables plus others like grains, nuts, beans, fat-free dairy products etc.
A study on depression was conducted on as many as 964 people with average age of 81 for a period of six and half years and according to the study it is now said that those persons who had foods closely associated to DASH diet were less likely to develop depression than those persons who did not follow this DASH diet.
Mr Laurel Cherian from Chicago based Rush University Medical Centre spoke about how people have this depression issue more now. He also spoke about different categories of people who get affected by this depression issue.
It is now clear that elderly people, people having memory issues plus others having high BP, cholesterol and stroke affected persons are more likely to suffer from depression.
It must be noted that this study would be presented at the American Academy of Neurology’s 70th annual meeting and this meeting would take place in Chicago, USA.
