Harmful effects of using Mobile Phone before Bed time

The total circulatory process of sunrise and sun set is not only a natural event to denote the day and night in a day, but also a reminder of the living being’s own biological clock.  Some of the animal groups adapt the nocturnal lifestyle of hunting at nights and resting during the day time. But the Human beings, from the hunter-gatherer time period, were designed to sleep at nights and work during the day time.

Circadian Rhythm

The entire biological circulation of food intake, activity and rest dependent on this day-night cycle. This simple process of human body alignment to the nature is called Circadian Rhythm. Circadian rhythm, when disturbed increases the stress hormones inside our body, making our day to day activity difficult for the energetic activation. Any change in the time of sleep heavily influences the overall activeness and vitality in our body system.

Modern Times

The so called modern lifestyle demands our good night’s sleep for the purpose of Career, Entertainment and Financial aspects. This new gen lifestyle totally changes the circadian rhythm and even though the body adapts quickly for this lifestyle, there will be some minor disturbances throughout the day affecting our efficiency personally and at work place.

The usage of mobile phones is dramatically increased in the recent decade, especially at nights, harming the light sensitivity of our eyes. The blue light from the smart phones are seen at a very close proximity effecting the hormones of sleep causing sleeplessness.

Melatonin

Melatonin secretion is very important to keep our sleep cycles in a proper motion. When Smart phones are used throughout the night it will cheat the brain that it is not the night time. So the brain reduces the production of melatonin inside our body. For the reverse our body produces cortisol which is a wake up hormone. Cortisol is stress hormone required for body functions. During the night Cortisol makes our eyes and body alert causing Sleep deprivation.

The deprivation of sunlight, as the modern corporate work style doesn’t allow the outdoor set up, causes low level melatonin secretion. The smart phone lights will further worsen the situation by cheating our brains manipulating the night as day.

Effects

The prolonged sleep deprivation may cause minor disturbances like Tiredness, Fatigue and overall body efficiency required for day to day activities. Also long term it can affect the mental health of the person leading to stress and anxiety. This stress and anxiety in our minds accumulates various hormonal and organic imbalances in our body, leading to many lifestyle diseases like Diabetes and Obesity and also other chronic disorders.

How to handle Insomnia

Lifestyle changes is the only option to adapt our bodies for its natural healthy state. Sunlight and Outdoor environments acts as an effective stimulant for our body to produce more vital chemical reactions balancing our natural wellness of the body.

Avoiding using Mobile phones after sunset and if it is choice-less, use a blue light filter in your smart phones to reduce the harm.

Meditation and Exercises heavily influence in making your body transforming slowly to rest, improving sleep quality at nights.

Last but not least the stress free lifestyle is the way to eradicate almost of illness of this Nature given gift called Body.
