With the last date for regularization of all construction-related records set to conclude on 21st March, the concerned officials are exploring the extension of the period by another 3 months.

The Plan to regularize all constructions made before July 2017 violating the rules was announced on 22nd June 2017. As it was announced that the plan would be in vogue only for 6 months, and the cost of processing being high, the construction owners did not come forward to regularize. So far, only very numbers of applications have been received on this front.

In this situation, a decision has been taken and it has been announced that the deadline for regularisation of constructions with violations has been extended by another 3 months.

Still, the concerned officials are still anxious as the expected number of applications for regularization of the violated constructions has not been received till now.

A higher official of the concerned department explained that just like the existing plan for the construction on unapproved plots, there are prospects of extending the deadline for the regularization of the violated constructions also by another 3 months.

The official further informed that a decision on the higher charges for the regularization of violated construction, only the Ministers’ Cabinet Committee can take a decision in this regard.
