The online registrations for engineering admissions in Tamil Nadu have started yesterday, 3rd May, 2018 is known. The news that has emerged now is more than 85 % students registered themselves from the comfort of their homes on the first day. It is known that government has set up as many as 44 TFCs for the students and it is now said that just over 1000 students registered by using these TFCs.  Until 6pm in the evening, a total of 7420 students registered online and that is superb. Last year on the first day 4378 students got registered and this year it has gone up.

There are expectations by the university officials that more than one lakh students would be applying this year.

On Thursday, 3rd May, minister for higher education Mr. K.P. Anbalagan made many heads turn when he inspected TFC in Chennai. The minister later shared his thoughts and said that government have done away with the difficulty for the students. The students could sit at their homes and register and need not come all the way to Chennai. He further spoke about how student’s public examination scores would be picked by the admission system once the student gets registered.

Once when the plus two results get announced, the student marks would be automatically integrated with their application. For this the students must give their roll numbers in the application. Only state board students could use this facility and for those students from CBSE manual updating of their marks must be carried out.

Few students faced difficulties regarding payment of registration fees as they did not have a credit card or debit card etc.

It is important to note that Anna University conducts TNEA every year so that students would be admitted to various engineering courses in many engineering colleges in the state of Tamil Nadu. The last date for application registration would be 30th May.
