New syllabus for the students of 1st, 6th, 9th, and 11th Standards released

The Department of Education of the state government of Tamil Nadu has revised the syllabus for some classes after a gap of 12 years. The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, E. Palanisamy released the new textbooks yesterday (Friday, 4th May).

In the 1st phase of the planned revision of syllabus, the change in the syllabus is released this year for the students of 1st, 6th, 9th, and 11th Standards, In the 2nd Phase, the change in syllabus for the other classes will be introduced next year.

A special training/coaching programme is scheduled for the teachers to teach the students as per the revised syllabus. The training will be conducted from 1st June to 15th June.

The new textbooks are full of new features printed in the latest technology including colourful drawings and photographs. In order to facilitate simpler and easier understanding of the lesson, features such as drawings, cartoons (drawing serials), and examples have been given.

New lessons have been added pertaining to the latest literature, latest technology, and the culture of the Tamil people in the past and present, great Tamil academicians, and achievers have been added.

The devices based on the latest technology such as Barcode, the internet links for the video lessons, and the mobile Apps will be used while teaching the lessons. New features such as the job opportunities, details of various competitive examinations, opportunities to pursue higher education, etc., have also been added as new lessons.

The syllabus committee has expressed confidence that this new textbook as per the revised syllabus would match and even excel other syllabus such as CBSE and ICS.
