Prospects of rain due to thermal convection in a few places in Tamil Nadu today (14th May)

The Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed that there are prospects of rain or rain with thunder in a few places in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry due to the thermal convection phenomenon.
The meteorological centre further explained:
As winds from different directions are blowing towards the interior Tamil Nadu and because of the development of a cyclonic for in the upper layers of the atmosphere over the Kanyakumari region, and the phenomenon of thermal convection, there are prospects of rain or rain with thunder in a few places in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry today (Monday, 14th May). There are prospects of rain or rain with thunder in a few places in the interior Tamil Nadu.
