Nehru Stadium to be renovated

The Tamil Nadu Government has announced a sum of Rs. 5 crores to be set aside to renovate Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. The stadium was constructed in 1995 for the SAF Games during the previous AIADMK regime.
The money will be used to build a state-of-the-art facility with the latest equipment. Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Selvi J. Jayalalitha has also announced construction of playgrounds and stadiums to provide better facilities for sportspersons.
