Tirupathi temple corridors to be closed for 12 hours on the lunar eclipse - 27th July

The largest lunar eclipse of this century is all set to occur on 27th July as per the Tamil calendar year Vilambi, month Aani, and the stars Uthiradam and Thiruvonam on Friday.

This eclipse can be seen with naked eye. The eclipse starts at 11.54 PM. At 1.52 AM past midnight, the moon will be entirely covered and it will become pitch dark. This full-scale lunar eclipse will last until 2.43 AM. Subsequently, the cover will get removed gradually and the lunar eclipse will be over by early morning 3.49 AM on 28th July.

During the period of this lunar eclipse, the corridors of the famous temple of Tirupathi will remain closed 12 hours from 4.00 PM on 27th July until early morning 4.00 AM on 28th July, The regular seavas such as Kalyana Utsavam, Sahasradeepa Alankara Seva, and Pournami Garuda Sevai will all be cancelled during this period.
