Thermal convection may lead to prospects of rain in 1 or 2 places

An official from the Chennai Meteorological Centre explained that due to the formation of the thermal convection phenomenon, there are prospects of rain or rain with thunder in 1 or 2 places today (25th July) in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
The Chennai Metro City will remain cloudy. Thunderclouds may form during the evening or the night sessions leading to the prospects of light rain in a few places.
The maximum temperature will be 98.6 Degrees Fahrenheit and the minimum temperature will be 82.4 Degrees Fahrenheit.
The intensity of the southwest monsoon rainy season has abated in the state of Kerala. Hence, the rain has reduced in the districts/areas in Tamil Nadu lying adjacent to the Western Ghat mountain range. Presently, there is a mild or medium rain persisting in these places.
