A strike as a token protest against the central government proposal to allow online sales of medicines and tablets, all pharmacies will close shops from midnight today (12.00 midnight - 27th September).
The central government had announced that it proposes to permit online sales of medicines and tablets during the start of September.
Protesting strongly against this, citing that this step would hugely adversely affect their main trade, all pharmacies have decided to register this protest by going on strike for 1 day for a period of 24 hours.
They have reiterated that the central government must not permit the online sales of essentially life-saving drugs/medicines.
While buying online, there are higher possibilities of either the medicine being changed or the medicines past their expiry dates being sold.
Further, allowing online sales of medicines will pave the way for the children to get some of the banned drugs and use them without the knowledge of their parents.
