The cotton with coconut oil is applied slowly on the infected part. For better results this process must be repeated for every few hours.

By application of salt:

We might think that when salt is applied on cold sore in our mouth it might cause great irritation etc. The fact is when salt is applied on the affected area for 30 seconds then there would be a feeling of comfort. The viral infections would be reduced by the antimicrobial properties of the salt.

By applying honey:

Honey is good for our health is known. It is not known to many that honey could also be used to treat the cold sores effectively. Honey must be applied on the infected portion for a time of 5 to 7 minutes and washed well. By doing this 2 times a day then the issue of cold sores could be treated as the inflammation and itching gets reduced by the antimicrobial properties in honey.

By applying ice:

This is also one superb home remedy that could be used to treat cold sores. Inflammation and irritation gets reduced when ice is applied on cold sores. Soothing effect is got when ice is applied. This application of ice could be done many times in a day for better results.

By ginger application or intake:

Ginger is a common ingredient used in preparing dishes. Ginger could also be superb for its medicinal properties. . The antiseptic and healing properties of ginger help in treating cold sores. Ginger could be applied directly on cold sores or could be consumed in an empty stomach also.
