The Head of the Department of Registration, J. Kumarakurubaran, informed that a new facility to issue an acceptance/acknowledgement chit on receipt of the application for registration of property to the Revenue Department.
The fully integrated computerized online system for registration of properties using the software ‘Star 2.0’ was inaugurated by the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister E. Palanisamy in the department of Registration in February this year.
As a part of this plan, the change of Form 6 has been entirely computerized and the facility to send the acceptance/acknowledgement chit as soon as the registration of the Patta as per the revised Form 6 has been introduced. Further, SMS will be sent regarding this to the applicant,
However, even after the introduction of this facility, applications were received for the change of Patta for the same property. Thus, there is the system of receiving more than 1 application for the same registration.
In order to prevent these duplicate applications, the system of issuing an acceptance/acknowledgement chit as soon as the revised application form has been sent. This acknowledgement chit will be issued when the original document is being returned and will be signed by the Registrar. The application number given by the Registration Department will be printed in this acknowledgement.
The status of the registration application can be accessed by visiting the website
www.eservices.tn.gov.in. and entering the section - Know your application status and entering the application number.
Further, an App can be installed - ‘e-service of land records’ on the smartphone and entering the application number.
The exact date of return of the original document will be given during the process of registration. While visiting to get the original document as per the dates indicated, the applicant has to remember and get the acknowledgement chit without fail.
This facility is currently introduced for the rural area applications. This will be extended to the other categories soon. Presently, for the other categories such as Natham and City areas, the current system of sending the revised application forms for registration on a weekly basis will continue.
Whenever internal sections are required for the registration, a separate charge is collected by the Department of Registration for this purpose. The details of these charges for internal section work will be sent along with the revised application form submitted for registration to the Department of Revenue. So, there would be no need to make any additional payment in the Department of Revenue.
Further, the applicants need not send any forms to the revenue department.
In case there are any complaints regarding the property registration on change of ownership, it can be made on the toll-free telephone number - 1800 425 1333. This system will be implemented from today (Monday, 29th October).
