Prospects of heavy rains in South Tamil Nadu

The Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed that there are prospects of heavy rains in South Tamil Nadu in the next 24 hours.
Presently, a depression zone is prevailing over the area above the Maldives and South Konkan, Further, there is also a cyclonic format prevailing in the upper layers of the atmosphere over the Maldives area. There is a depression zone prevailing over the Andaman Sea as well.
As for the next 24 hours, there are prospects of heavy rains in several places in South Tamil Nadu and a few places in North Tamil Nadu. There are prospects of heavy to very heavy rains in 1 or 2 places in South Tamil Nadu. Similarly, there are prospects of heavy rains in 1 or 2 places in North Tamil Nadu as well.
It may rain intermittently once or twice in the Chennai Metro City and its suburbs.
