Police personnel who are part of the Railway Protection Force rescued a 9-year old boy who had run away from his relatives home in Salem. The boy David was subject to abuse by his uncle after he started living with them following his parents’ deaths.
When RPF personnel saw him wandering in Chennai Central, they questioned him and learnt of his story. He has been transferred to Don Bosco Children’s Home in Waltax Road where he will stay as police investigate his story.
Mr. Azhagarsamy, Inspector said, ‘Though he was reluctant to speak at first, he told us about his plight in his relative’s house. When we asked him if he wanted to be taken back home, he pleaded us not to do so.’
