IMD’s regional weather inference has confirmed the possibility of heavy rains in the districts of Pondicherry, Kanchipuram, Ariyalur, Thiruvannamalai, Pudhukottai, Kadalur, Nagapattinam, Vizhupuram, Thiruvarur and Karaikal.

An area of low pressure cyclone formation is found near Southwest direction of Bay of Bengal. Now the recent update from IMD confirmed the enlargement of the low pressure zone that can bring heavy rains in the above mentioned districts. Moderate, heavy and very heavy rainfall is expected in these regions of Tamil Nadu revealed the deputy director general of IMD, Balachandran.

The newly formed system is further expected to move north bringing heavy rainfall in Chennai and other neighboring regions associated along the coastline of Bay of Bengal.

The low pressure may revolve around the regions with a speed of 50 to 60 miles per hour along with heavy rainfall. Chennai may receive heavy rainfall on a divided time interval. Most probably the pressurized zone may not be converted into a cyclone said the sources of IMD.
