The private weather analyst has informed that the rains may resume tomorrow (Thursday, 29th November) in Tamil Nadu. Further, there are prospects of another low-pressure zone to be formed and moving towards Tamil Nadu. This may lead to prospects of widespread rains in Tamil Nadu.
1st Depression Zone
He explained further that as there is a low–pressure zone situated over the Maldives, there are prospects of rains resuming in Tamil Nadu. This would lead to the northeast wind blowing towards the Tamil Nadu coastal areas. There are prospects rain starting tomorrow and continuing until 1st December.
As the winds are rather weak, the intensity of the rains may be lesser. At the same time, heavy rains may be expected in the coastal districts and southern districts.
As for the coastal districts, a conducive atmosphere of winds leading to rain prevails from Mahabalipuram to Kanyakumari coast. There are prospects of heavy rains in 1 or 2 places. However, there are no prospects of any rain in the Chennai Metro City and its suburbs.
A 2nd depression zone
There are prospects of the formation of a 2nd depression zone on 5th December. This low-pressure zone is likely to be located over the southeast of Sri Lanka and would be somewhat stronger. This may transform into a depression zone and then later into a cyclonic format.
The progress of this depression zone can be monitored only after 5th December. However, this may lead to rains tomorrow. It may be stronger than the average low-pressure zones.
With the low-pressure zone expected to form on 5th December, there are prospects of widespread rain except for the western districts of Coimbatore, Nilgiri, and Erode.
There are prospects of heavy rain in the districts of Chennai, Kanchipuram, and Thiruvallur. Copious rain may be expected in the coastal districts and the southern Tamil Nadu districts.
