Though only a few days have passed since the last strike observed by the Bank Employees and Officers, the All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA) has planned to go on strike again during the 1st week of January.
Information is gathered that AIBEA has planned to go on strike for 2 days on 8th and 9th January 2019 emphasising their demands for various issues.
A notice, submitted to Mumbai Stock Exchange Market by the United Bank of India, it has mentioned ‘Indian Bank Employees Association and the All India Bank Employees’ Association have planned to go on strike on 8th and 9th January 2019.’
Nevertheless, the bank has also informed that arrangements would be made that bank services would be made available without any disruption in all branches.
In case this above-planned strike realises, it would be the 3rd strike by them within the last 20 days! The Bank officers indulged in a strike on 20th December stressing on their demand on various issues including the cancellation of the proposed merger of 3 banks. The customers were put to great hardships in the absence of bank services.
The central government accorded its approval for the proposed merger of Bank of Baroda, Vijaya Bank, and Dena Bank during last September. Protesting strongly against this proposal, the banks observed strike on 26th December. Due to this, several critical activities such as filling up cash in ATMs, cheque transactions. And other bank services disturbed putting the customers to great hardship.
In this situation, there has been a call again for another strike by the bank employees!
