LPG cooking gas cylinder price down

The price of the LPG cooking gas cylinder which had been on an increasing trend has come down. The central government has been selling the LPG cooking gas cylinders at a subsidised price, especially for the economically backward public.
However, due to the continuous increase in the price of the crude oil in the international market, the prices of essential commodities such as petrol, diesel, and the LPG cooking gas had also gone up during the last 6 months.
In fact, the prices have shown an increasing trend from June, However, there was an announcement yesterday (Monday, 31st December) that the prices of the LPG cooking gas cylinders are down.
Indian Oil Corporations, which decides the price of the LPG cooking gas cylinder had notified yesterday that the prices of the non-subsidised LPG cooking gas cylinder are reduced by Rs. 120.50 and the price of the subsidised LPG cooking gas cylinder is reduced by Rs. 5.91.
The main reasons for this reduction in LPG cooking gas cylinder price are attributed to the reduction in the price of the gas fuel in the international market and the appreciation of the Indian Rupee against the US dollar.With this reduction in prices, the price of the subsidised LPG cooking gas cylinder is down from Rs. 500.90 to Rs. 494.99 and the price of the non-subsidised LPG cooking gas cylinder is down from Rs. 809.50 to Rs. 689.
