The State Bank of India, the premier public sector bank, has introduced a new banking service where the bank officials/staff visit the homes of the senior citizens and differently-abled people.

Earlier, the Reserve Bank of India initiated a few activities to facilitate the senior citizens and differently-abled people straining their bodies to travel long distances spending time and money. Accordingly, The Reserve Bank of India ordered in the year 2017 that the banks should provide the extended services of the banking personnel visiting their residences senior citizens over 70 years of age and the differently-abled people with the related medical proof.

Subsequently, the State Bank of India has announced that the facility of banking personnel making home visits to the senior citizens over 70 years of age and differently-abled people will be provided within the 6 km domain of the SBI branches for their banking transactions.

A fee of Rs. 100 will be charged for the banking transactions an Rs. 60 will be charged for the non-banking transactions.

The customers have observed on this latest facility that this would be extremely helpful to the senior citizens and the differently-abled people and also, this would enable the reduction in the waiting crowd of customers in the bank branch premises.
