SL Airlines cuts flights to Chennai

Following the attack of Sri Lankan monks in Chennai and Thanjavur, SriLankan Airlines has halved the number flights in the Colombo-Chennai sector from Tuesday. ‘SriLankan Airlines has observed a drop in traffic between Chennai and Colombo due to recent developments in Tamil Nadu, hence it was decided to reduce its frequency of flights to Chennai from 28 to 14 per week’, said an official statement.
The monks were attacked by pro-Tamil protestors who are vying for a positive response to the US-led resolution in the UN against the island nation for war crimes during its civil war with the LTTE.
