Low price food outlets to open in all wards in Chennai

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa has announced that the facility of low price food outlets that have opened in Chennai will extended to all wards in the city. The first 15 outlets were inaugurated by her in February. Since then, many more have opened making the total 73 as on date.
The low prices in the outlets has received a good response from the masses. A plate of idlis cost Re. 1, Curd Rice Rs. 3 and Sambar Rice Rs. 5. However, there have been requests to add pickles with the curd rice and appalams with the sambar rice.
The outlets have been named ‘Amma Unnavagam’ after Ms. Jayalalithaa.
