Possibility of thunderstorm in Chennai on Saturday

For the last one week, Chennai city has been extremely hot and this heat has been making the lives of the Chennai residents very difficult. On Friday, 14th June, the temperature in Chennai crossed 40 degrees for the 6th consecutive day.

This was as per Mr. Balachandran who is deputy director general of meteorology.

He concluded that it was the recognition for maintaining 100 years of data and these data could be used as important records to access climate variability and to understand changes in the climate system.
