Teeming devotees at Tirupathi during the weekend: 24 hours waiting for free Darshan!

There were teeming crowds of devotees at the famous Tirupathi temple of Lord Vankatachalapathy during the weekend. Devotees need to wait up to 24 hours for free Darshan of the Lord.

It is traditional that the crowd of devotees becomes extremely high during the weekends of Saturdays and Sundays in Tirupathi.

In this situation, for this weekend (29th and 30th June - Saturday and Sunday), there were teeming crowds from yesterday itself (Friday, 28th June).

The Vaikundam waiting Hall for the devotees for free Darshan was full and the devotees were waiting in long queues stretching up to (Travels) Bungalow TPC gate and the TTD (Thirumalai Tirupathi Devsthanam Board) officials announced it might take 24 hours for the Darshan of the Lord Venkateswara.

Further, 49037 devotees had Darshan of the Lord from 3.00 Am when the Suparapadha Seva commenced up to 6.00 PM.

On day-before-yesterday (Thursday, 27th June), 70021 devotees had Darshan of the Lord from 3.00 AM to midnight 12.00 and offered their contribution in the Hundi. The Hundi collections were counted yesterday.  The TTD officials informed that during this 1 day alone, devotees have put Rs. 4.35 Crores in the Hundi.

The devotees with the special Rs. 300 ticket needed more than 4 hours waiting for Darshan. The devotees who took the mountain claiming route by foot for Divya Darshan and the devotees who got Darshan token through Aadhar cards waited for up to 8 hours for the Darshan of the Lord.
