In the next 2 days, city of Chennai is likely to get mild rains. It is revealed that after the mid September Chennai city would get intense short spells of rains. Point to be noted is after the mid September the southwest monsoon would enter its break period and this would result in the intense short spells of rains.
It has been predicted by the meteorological department that the condition of the sky is likely to be partly cloudy and light rains is likely to occur in some places. It was revealed by an official that the southwest monsoon was weak in the Arabian Sea side in the south but strong in the Bay of Bengal side. The city of Chennai would get rains when the southwest monsoon becomes weak on both the sides.
It is important to note that the axis of monsoon is expected to move closer to the Himalayas foothills by the middle of the month of September. By this, break would be created and it would trigger rains in the north coastal parts of the state of Tamil Nadu. In the break season, the southwest monsoon often triggers convective rains in Chennai city plus in the northern districts of TN and till early October the short spells of rains would be present.
