Prospects for heavy rains in Tamil Nadu

The Chennai Meteorological Center has informed that there is a cyclonic format prevailing in the upper layers of the atmosphere over the Andhra and adjacent Tamil Nadu coastal areas. Due to this, there are strong prospects for rains in the next 24 hours today (Monday, 23rd September) in a few places in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
Chennai Meteorological Centre has further informed that there are prospects for heavy rains in the districts of Kanchipuram, Thiruvallur, Villupuram, Perambalur, Ariyalur, Trichy, Thanjavur, Nagapattinam, Thiruvarur, Karur, Dindigul, Theni, Salem, Dharmapuri, and Krishnagiri.
As regards the Chennai Metro City, it will remain generally cloudy. There are prospects of rain with thunder in a few places in the city during the evening or night sessions in a few place.
