Advocate M. Manikandan has issued a writ petition against inaction of enforcement authorities to the encroachments, unhygienic food, non issuance of computerized bills and sale of goods such as eatables at inflated prices at Koyambedu. Mr. Manikandan said that the worst of them all was at the Koyambedu Bus terminus. He said that the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority has not taken any action despite three representations and reminders.
The PIL (Public Interest Litigation) came up for hearing at the Madras High Court. The bench consisting of Chief Justice R.K. Agarwal and Justice N. Paul Vasanthakumar has issued notices returnable in six weeks.
