A brand new ‘Exynos 990’ processors being introduced by Samsung to power all its future premium smartphones. The models may be Galaxy S11 or Note 11.
Samsung has shared a lot so far about the power of its Exynos 990, one of the interesting aspects of it is the support for the 120Hz screen refresh rate. Samsung stated that the 120Hz refresh rate driver will reduce screen tearing and will make animations smoother not only on regular bar-shaped smartphones but foldable phones as well
Samsung further sated in the global newsroom website that the 120Hz refresh rate driver will reduce screen tearing and will make animations smoother not only on regular bar-shaped smartphones but foldable phones as well.
The post mentioned, “The processor also features a 120Hz refresh-rate display driver, which makes games come alive by reducing screen tearing and enabling smoother animations even on devices with multiple displays, such as foldable phones”.
Exynos 990’s highlighted features of the new 5G Exynos Modem 5123:
- Both the processor and the modem are made using 7nm EUV (extreme ultra-violet) process, which also makes them efficient and powerful. Exynos 990 also has Arm Mali-G77 GPU, which is the first-ever based on Valhall architecture.
- The processor itself has eight cores in total. This comprises of two powerful custom cores, two high-performance Cortex-A76 cores, and four efficient Cortex-A55 cores.
- As for photography, you get ISP (image signal processor) with support for up to six image sensors with simultaneous processing for three of them. It also has resolution support for up to 108MP.
