ECR beaches to be beautified

Talks are on between the Chennai Corporation and experts regarding the beautification of areas along ECR (East Coast Road). Tenders will be called for once estimates and plans are finalized.
This is a follow up of the plan that the Corporation has laid out to beautify Neelankarai Beach. The plan included laying cement roads, installing street light posts, providing parking spaces, construction a garden and a children’s play area and also a jogging track and benches along the beach.
The other plans are to beautify the Kotivakkam and Palavakkam beaches by adding footpaths as well. All new construction will conform to the specification of Coastal Regulation Zone.
