Warning for WhatsApp users: Hacking prospects through MP4 video files!

A new warning has been issued for all WhatsApp users! The hugely popular social networking medium WhatsApp has located another malware in its usage. It has been warned that using this malware, hackers can destroy all information of the users!

The India Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) has indicated the harms of the malware in WhatsApp. It is informed that this malware attacks the user’s cell through an MP4 file format.

Once the user opens the received MP4 file, the hackers can access all important data of the user including the WhatsApp, chats, photos and all other info in the cell.

The new malware detected in WhatsApp is categorized under the ‘high-risk threatening’.

As per the information released by WhatsApp and CERT, it is established that this malware can affect users on Android and iOS platforms.

It is informed that this malware can attack the Android version before WhatsApp V2.19.134, WhatsApp Business Version before V2.19,44, iOS WhatsApp before V2.19.52, and the WhatsApp Business Version before V2.19.51, WhatsApp versions V2.18.328 and V2.8.18.15 for Windows phones.

The WhatsApp users have been alerted to the WhatsApp users to immediately switch off the facility of automatic download in the video download option. It is also advised not to download videos received from unknown numbers and suspicious video files.

The Public Relations Officer of WhatsApp has informed that the company is always striving to improve the safety level for the users and has been initiating several activities on this front.

WhatsApp has informed the users to change to the latest WhatsApp version to be safer!
